Mother Teresa date of birth was on August 26, 1910. She was born on Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Macedonia. She was born into an Albanian descent. Ever since she was a child, she was very kind to others and had a strong urge to help people. As she grew, her faith in God grew. Her love for Christ grew, when Mother Teresa age was 18 she joined the  Sisters of Loreto, a community of nuns with goals to help India.

After some training, when Mother Teresa age was 21, she took her vows as a nun. She was sent to India where she worked in St. Mary’s High School in Calcutta as a teacher. During these years she noticed the poverty lying outside the building. As per her request, her permission to work outside the school was granted. 

She immediately devoted herself to help the poor and needy people in the slums of Calcutta. This was the step she took which birthed her as a mother. She started a free school teaching slum children. She was alone yet giving her best.

For the respect of Indian culture, she wore a simple plain white sari with a blue border. For years, Mother Teresa and her small group of nuns struggled with food and funds. Considering her efforts soon other voluntary workers joined her work. She finally started getting donations and financial supports which helped to expand her scope of work. 

In Calcutta, Mother Teresa experienced traumatic events. One was the Bengal Famine in 1943 and another was the Hindu/Muslim violence in 1946. 

On October 7, 1950, when Mother Teresa age was 40 years, she was granted permission to start her own order. She started “The Missionaries of Charity” which was established to provide love and care for those people whom nobody was ready to look after.

While helping others she always mentioned Jesus that serving others is a teaching of Jesus Christ.  Her helpers grew and formed a small society declared as International Religious Family by Pope Paul VI.

Mother Teresa established a home for dying people in 1952. People came there to die with dignity. People used to spend their last moments with her. Soon enough the volunteers, funding, and the organization grew in the span of time. In 1984, a Priest branch was introduced. 

People walking in the path of Mother Teresa increased and soon it expanded to countries like Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The members of the society of Missionaries spread all over the world. The organization provided aid to poor, refuges as well as victims of a natural disaster. They also build homes and shelters to look after homeless, diseased, and alcoholics. 

With assistance from other organizations, the members grew to become over 1 million co-workers helping more than 40 countries. Even after getting huge success, Mother Teresa net worth would always go to her funding.

In the 1960s, a writer wrote a book about the life of Mother Teresa which grabbed attention from people all over the world. A documentary was also produced titled, “something beautiful for God”. Due to this publicity, her work was reflected around the globe. 

In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for all the good work she has done. But Mother Teresa didn’t attend the ceremony instead she requested all of her prize money $192,000 to be funded for the poor.

Even after Mother Teresa’s death, she has remained in the spotlight. She is declared as a saint one of the greatest humanitarians ever. Her works are still effective today, the organization she built is still running today. She taught people to help others and to be kind. She was able to give a second life to thousands of people who lost hope. 

She cared for them whom no one would even look at. Even after her death, she is able to change the world with the wisdom she has left behind. She proved to be a mother to all, a mother who cared for the abandoned and hated people. She was enlightened and a cure to people.
