How do I get over the fact that I am very thin and not good looking at all. Everytime the topic of malnutrition and marasmus comes, my friends look at me. Though I laugh with them, internally I feel very bad.

Granny can feel all the pain you’re having right now. I’ve myself been a victim of body shaming throughout my life that they’ve named be Little Granny. Most people today don’t understand that body and looks are just first impressions. What matters is the person’s perception of others inner self. Granny’s first advice to anyone would be being vocab on situations that are putting you in misery. If you can, talk to the group about how you feel when they body shame you. Sometimes, it’s difficult to convince a group, if so, talk to someone in the group you’re close with. Tell him/her about your feelings and the impacts it’s having on you. Time is the best healer, I must say. Granny was small and thin at her young age, she still is little though, fat instead. But granny never felt inferior or ashamed of her looks or her body. That’s how I handled my concerns. Be confident, be natural and be happy with what you have. Positive attitude is the best medicine my love and once you really accept and embrace the inner you, nothing about people’s opinion will hurt you, this will never be a concern at all.

Dear Granny,

It’s been 5 months since my marriage, and things are already getting rough for me. I have to wake up early, do all the chores and cook for the day plus my mother in law doesn’t help me. I am starting to stress mentally and physically. I can’t even go home due to the lockdown.

Imagine how we blended into colleges right after school. Things were different at first, awkward, depressing at times, but over time, everything started to get along. Give it some time and be strong. Granny had her husband all along her way. You can talk to yours about how you're feeling and how it’s been difficult for you to hold things up all alone. Try talking to your mother in law as well. Tell her about things that are keeping you stressed. Sometimes new families and ways of life are hard to cope up with. But if you don't express your concern to anyone, nothing will change.
